I'm a runner?

I have never liked to run. Heck, I never even really like to exercise unless it involves an activity like zumba or yoga or volleyball that keeps my mind off of the fact that I'm exercising. But I decided that it was high time I got off my butt! Bill joined a gym in the fall... I thought about joining with him but gyms always have intimidated me. Plus it always makes me think of the friends episode where chandler wants to 'quit the gym'. But I went as a guest with him one time and realized I kind of liked it.  So I ended up joining the gym.

I also heard about the couch to 5k program and I tried it in the fall but as soon as there was a hint of cold air, I gave up (I don't work out outside if it is under 50 degrees).  So I decided to give it another shot now that I joined the gym. It is perfect for me since I am the very definition of  a couch potato. I will never be like my friends who run marathons (or triathlons, or iron mans - oh my) but if I can get to the point where I can run a 5k I will be very proud of myself.

I'm now on week 4 (almost halfway through!). It has slowly (and I mean a snails pace) started to get me back in to running and getting my endurance up.  And guess what... I don't even hate it!  I actually like it!  I mean I don't know that I am ever going to LOVE running like some people, but I like how it makes me feel and it makes me believe I might actually be able to run a 5k!
